Botanical Name: Rhipsalis pilocarpa
Common Name: Hairy Stemmed Rhipsalis
Family: Cacataceae
Plant Type: Epiphyte
Plant Care: Rhipsalis pilocarpa needs to be watered regularly. Although it can store water in its succulent stems, this plant is not drought tolerant and should never be allowed to go completely dry. Water when the top 2 inches (5 cm) of the soil feel dry to the touch. Rhipsalis pilocarpa grows best in partial shade. Any amount of direct sun will scorch the stems. If you notice that the stems are turning pink, that indicates sun stress, and although they look pretty, they’re essentially telling you that your rhipsalis is struggling.
Toxicity: Toxic if ingested.
